Dr. Mustafa Akkaya earned his medical degree from Gazi University (2003–2009). He completed his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazit University (2009–2014). He holds a PhD in Musculoskeletal System and Regenerative Medicine from the same university (2016–2020).
In 2022, he received the European Knee Society Knee Arthroplasty Traveling Researcher Fellowship in robotic knee arthroplasty. He worked as a clinical researcher at Helios ENDO‑Klinik Hamburg (2021–2022), focusing on advanced joint surgery and prosthetic infections. He also worked as a clinical researcher at Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, Bologna (2014), focusing on arthroscopic joint surgery, meniscus, and cartilage.
