I can only report positive things. First of all, to everyone who complains about the waiting times: complain to the government, not the staff. They do their best every day and often get nothing but ingratitude in return. They can’t help it—the low budget and the resulting shortage of staff are not their fault. The staff we experienced were friendly and very helpful. Especially the whole CPU unit and the 3/4. A big thank-you as well to Frau Dr Porres, who takes care of her patients and their relatives in a considerate, caring way. Keep it up—you are the real heroes in the country!!!

The doctors and nurses in the intensive care unit are simply outstanding. It’s incredible how calm and patient they are with patients and relatives. Thank you for what you did for my father. And thank you as well that I was allowed to be on the ward so much.

Station 8/7 — excellent nursing staff! You make the best of your limited resources. Unfortunately you’re understaffed, but still you take time for the patients and just listen. Everyone was very competent, and they also had the odd uplifting remark ready. I can’t quite understand the logic behind how the new doors in the room were fixed, and it’s also questionable that there’s no place to put things in the bathroom—but the staff really make up for it! 08.07.26 I was back on the ward again as an emergency, and I can only emphasize it once more: from the nursing staff to the cleaning staff, everyone is super friendly and competent! The ZNA team as well—the girls were really nice. With the whole staff in the OP/preparation station, you can calm your nerves and even make jokes. Conclusion: what you send into the forest comes back. As a patient, you also have to take hold of your own nose sometimes and consider concerns about how you deal with employees who give their best every day—they’re also just people.

Big praise to the nurses and doctors in the Gyn department. Also, all the anesthetists took away my fear and were always friendly, humorous, and helpful—both physically and mentally—when the anxiety came. When it happened, I was supported with breathing exercises, and my hand was held until the anesthesia took effect. The nurses and also the young man who was there in the OR with me stayed there the whole time. When I woke up, everyone was very kind. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, just the same as the anesthetist who had promised me that the anesthesia would go smoothly (in my case, I have an intolerance to certain anesthetics, with several bad experiences). But this time it was a positive experience: falling asleep and waking up without any problems. I thank you from the deepest part of my heart ❤️ to each and every one. THANK YOU

I arrived at the clinic as an emergency by helicopter in mid-May… I was operated on for 5 hours… I spent 5 days in the intensive care unit, and then 5 days in the regular ward (cardiothoracic surgery), and during that time there wasn’t a single staff member who didn’t deserve five stars! Unfortunately, in recent years I’ve had many negative experiences with hospitals due to my cancer-stricken son and my also-ill husband. Westpfalzklinikum Kaiserslautern (Vascular Surgery Department) was, without exception, a positive experience. Only nice and helpful staff, a smooth process for all examinations, the surgery on the carotid artery went well, and healing also went well. I can only recommend Vascular Surgery to everyone.

Unfortunately, on Ascension Day (because my family doctor was closed for 5 days!), I had to go to the emergency room, as there was an incredibly unpleasant incident in the building complex where I live. I had my cat on my lap and then, all of a sudden, I heard their cries for help from a woman’s voice—very panicked. … then again. I was already so startled the first time that my cat startled too and bit me hard in the arm. There was even a police deployment because of the cries for help. I went toward the underground garage to look for the “woman” and help. In the end it turned out to be a “joke/prank” by drunk and stoned young men. The police then took “educational measures” against them. I THANK YOU, Ms. Dr. FISCHER (I hope I spelled it correctly). Thanks to your intervention, it seems a looming blood poisoning from the bite was prevented. In 2021, during Covid, I believe, my former family doctor thought I had a torn ligament or something like that because I had severe pain in my calf. Shortly after, he corrected himself and apologized and sent me immediately to the emergency room at his own expense by taxi with suspected deep vein thrombosis—which was also noted. Still, I was lying in a dark corridor for almost 7 hours with a flackering lamp and, right next to me, an obviously demented patient who was cursing and shouting. After several infusions and blood tests, some overwhelmed nurse/attendant—I'd guess—came and said, “But you have very high inflammation values, do you know where that comes from…” or something like that. I then just said: “Medically, I don’t really have a clue, but could it be due to the suspected thrombosis—so that’s why I’m here…” 🤷‍♀️? Then things did get moving and I ended up on some internal medicine ward, but I still had to lie there for a few days again with other obviously elderly, ill people in the room who ONLY moaned and cursed… UNTIL FINALLY Ms. DR. D’AMICO (I AM SO GRATEFUL TO YOU) took over my treatment. She drew my blood perfectly despite my bad veins and stabilized me with the right treatments and medications to such an extent that I could go home. Because everything took so long until then, the thrombosis was no longer in my calf but in my thigh—and even a pulmonary embolism! CONCLUSION! IF YOU GET THE RIGHT DOCTORS AND NURSES, YOU CAN ALSO RECEIVE GOOD TREATMENT—AND EVEN LIFE-THREATENING SITUATIONS CAN TURN OUT WELL!”
