Co-founder of Bookimed in Kyiv, oversees what patients deal with directly: which clinics get onto the platform, and the medically trained coordinators who stay with them from the first question to the return flight.
Eugene Khotianov has worked in medical travel for twelve years. He co-founded Bookimed in Kyiv in 2014 with Yevhenii Kozlov, after the two of them ran into the same problem from the patient's side: no single place to compare clinics abroad, no way to check whether one could be trusted, and no one to call if something went wrong.
He leads the operational side of the platform — partner clinic admissions, and the team of more than 70 medically trained coordinators who work with patients in over ten languages, before, during and after treatment. Bookimed receives hundreds of applications from hospitals every month; roughly one in ten is accepted.
Before Bookimed, Eugene founded online-okna, a marketplace for windows, and served as Executive Director at Gold.UA. Both gave him the marketplace and operations experience Bookimed was built on.
